Ride Summary:
Easy dirt road through ponderosa pine and aspen forest

Trail Description:
This route offers an easy 6 mile dirt road loop around Wing Mountain through pine and aspen forest. After this loop you can extend the ride to the Lava River Cave located an additional 11 miles away. To get to the cave, which is almost 1 mile long and 30 ft, take dirt road 222B to 222 for about 6 miles and then turn left unto 171. After that its a beautiful 4 mile to 171B at which point you take a right unto 171B and the cave is a short 1/2 mile away. To return, turn right unto 171 and ride an easy mile to 245. Take a right on 245 and ride 3 miles to Hwy 180. Take a right and it's a short 4 mile back to the car on a paved road. The Lava River Cave is well worth a visit to see the longest lava tube in AZ formed over 700,000 years ago.

How to get there:
The trailhead can be found at mile #226 on Highway 180 10 miles North of Flagstaff. Look on your left.
