Trail Description:
This course is very hilly, not too much time spent going straight. There is a 7 mile loop, with some additional smaller loops. Course is in good condition, lots of roots and sand.
How to get there:
From Grand Rapids, take E. Beltline north until you get to Knapp and take a right. Take Knapp until you get to Egypt Valley and take a left. Take Egypt Valley to 3 Mile and take a right. Parking is down the road away and on the left.
Additional Notes:
State Game Area - bring your bug spray.

Up till now I have been rideing mostly on the Kent trails.
This trail was a blast, you hit a stump the right way down the right hill and you can get some air. I recommed this trial to every one.

I love this trail...I have to say, though, the sand is getting more difficult in this dry, dry weather in some spots on the trail...ran into a tree the other day! :)

Actual "staging area" is on 4 mile Rd just east of Egypt Valley Rd., not 3 mile Rd.

Best all around trail I have rode. Some sand in the valleys but not much. The second half rocks. A busy trail so watch out for others.

It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail.
Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

The directions above aren't for the main parking lot. Instead of turning right on 3 mile, keep going down egypt valley and turn right on 4 mile. Turn right into the parking lot, after about 100 yards. the trail begins directly across 4 mile from the parking lot. when you come to the dirt roads while riding, continue on the trail by going RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, on the three dirt roads on which you must jog before heading back into the woods.

The best beginer/intermediate trail near Grand Rapids. A little bit of everything crammed into a 30-45 minute ride, but not too technical. THE trail to ride to introduce someone to mountain biking. Advanced riders may find it to be too short (only about 11 miles).
