Trail Description:
This little loop is great for an early morning jaunt if you are staying at Black Butte Ranch. It starts out with a mixed singletrack and fire road climb up and across the face of Black Butte and ends with a section of twisty single track followed by a nice long downhill double track runout.
How to get there:
Head north on the metolius - windigo trail which crosses 20 on the little ridgeline just east of the Black Butte turn off. After you have climbed for a while, you will reach a crossroads that indicates "upper butte, lower butte, indian ford". Take the lower butte road which climbs westbound across the south face of Black Butte. Eventually, you will come to the spot where suttle trail crosses the road headed downhill. Take the suttle trail until it hits a double track. turn left on the double track and hang on until you get to the bottom of the hill. You will come out on 20 about a hundred yards west of the Black Butte Ranch turnoff.
