Trail Description:
Narrow and in the trees. Lots of ferns and miscellanous foliage around the trails. Forget about seeing the sun. Probably 6 or so different routes through the forest, which is an undeveloped county-owned section of land between Issaquah and Redmond. Has some genuinely difficult trails, and a few steep and loose climbs.
How to get there:
Get off I90 at the Front St. Exit in Issaquah, get going north up the plateau on Issaquah Fall City road. Continue following the road, it will turn right at a T junction. Turn left on 32nd Street. Take a right on Beaver Lake Drive. A couple miles down the road on you will see a small gravel parking area and a not very well marked trailhead. Go down the trail, at the first trail crossing there will be a map of the trail system on a tree. If these lousy directions confuse you, refer to a map of the Eastside, Section 36 should be on it.
Additional Notes:
More or less just a trail system for people in the neighborhood.

The county has officially dubed this "Soaring Eagle Recreation Area." 120 acres of singletrack. It could be very yuppy-fied soon as it is right in the middle of a major housing development. It will be linked to Beaver Lake and Grand Ridge by this spring (2008)according to the parks department guy I talked to. This could be considered the "South SeaTac" of the north. Not technical at all, but way fun anyway. This area is great for a family ride or a good workout. Just say no to the ball field expansion.

This is a great area to ride especially if you are on a time crunch. This has become a favorite more many riders in the area especially through the fall and winter months. Try a night ride there and you will be hooked.
We are all apposed to the ball feilds and we are regrouping to try and stop them. You will start to see information popping up in the community and around the trail. Your support will help save this area and done right we can hopefully work with king county and the city to find an area to freeride as well.
We definately could use a few good ladders and reasonable jumps.

I popped out into a housing development last weekend and there was a notice of development sign that was calling for the construction of 76 single family homes...again the Beav takes another slow death stroke.
Way fun but wet area.

The beav is fun, muddy almost all year, but could do with some more Freeride elements.... f-u-c-k the city

I heard they are going to build a bunch of ball feilds right in the middle of "The Beav". I grew up riding these trails and have seen their slow but steady demise. Nothing is sacred anymore.

How to get there... From I-90 take the Issaquah Front Street exit. Head North under the freeway onto E Lake Sammamish. Turn right onto Issaquah-Fall City Rd and head up the hill. Turn left onto Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd. Turn right onto 228th Ave SE. Take a right on SE 8th St and follow it back the road turns into 244th Ave SE. Turn right on E Main Dr the parking lot end of the street. (Road becomes E Plateau Dr along the way.)
It's a nice yuppie trial. Maps are at nearly every intersection no mystry here. Good for sprinting and working on the gut. Mild rolling hills. I'd take my wife or the fat guy from the office... O' that could be me... I liked it.
