Trail Description:
Do you want to go on a single track with neckbreaking turns, tree roots around every corner, and have a maximum visibility of 10 feet? Well here is something for you. Beginners should get life insurance before trying these trails...
How to get there:
Take the belfair highway past the Airport. When you get to town there should be a sign that says state park next right. Take that right and another one on Old Belfair HWY. Take a left at Bear Creek RD and then hang another right at Gold Creek(it'll be a wooden sign on a tree). You'll come across a creek(you'll see rails on each side of the road) and there are parking on both sides right after. The trailhead and staging is on the right.

This trail is awesome. The mine is cool, especially going inside and the downhill at the end is insane. Going up there this weekend actually...
@Rhonda, to get to the Gold Mine, follow the Gold Creek trail until you reach the bridge. Instead of following the trail up, go onto the blocked off road straight ahead. Follow it until you reach a trail/road that goes to the right. Follow this to the mine.

Hey I have to ask where is the mine shaft? I know where the Gold creek trailhead is. Where the hoirse riders park. I went up GM1 logging rd where it goes to the vista lookout. which hooks to GM2 and 3. But is the mine shaft up the gold creek trailhead and with no turns? It still a logging road. I rode horses on that. but where's the mine?

First of all this is not Gold Mountain it is Green Mountain. I am a new rider but live next to trail head. So for a quick ride I ride it often. It has a lot of rocks and roots. Hard ride up rough ride down

If you want to find the masochist trail go up the road on the south side of the creek to the first road off to the right. Go to the mine and follow the trail up, up, up (to the right if you are facing the mine. At the top of the hill fall off the hill to the right. This is where you want to make sure your life insurance is paid up! If you can control the fall, then you get to the bottom uninjured and are right back at the trailhead. I do not recomend trying to go up this trail carrying a bike.

This is NOT a hard trail. Parts of the bottom are very loose roadpack that makes for difficult uphill but other than that, very cool ride. Uphill is gradual not very imposing. The clearcut at the top makes the climb a little anticlimactic but the view more than makes up for it. Don't bother heading to the summit unless you want the extra exercise. Downhill is awesome, long and fun. Intermediate would be a good rating for difficulty.

Masochist? I think not. This is my first year mtn. biking and I tore this trail up. A lot of fun though, a blast acctually. There is also a really cool easy ride that goes by a mine shaft in the area and then a sweet tecnical down hill at the end that brings you right back to the trail head

The main trails are very easy and clear. Look for the side trails that go off of Green and Gold mountains, that's where it gets REALLY fun and where the Masocistic stuff lies. Plentiful arrays of roots to jump and technical steep rocky areas. By far contains some of the knarliest stuff around.

This is definetly not a hard trail. Fun, but not hard. I don't know what that guy is talking about.

Not quite a maochist but I fell alot. Tight switchbacks and lots of rock. Wear protective gear on this one. You are bound to be bruised.
