Trail Description:
This is one of the best rides in Middlesex County. Close to Rutgers, it offers something for everyone in the intermediate/advanced range. Steep climbs, fast turns, hard jumps, obstacles and streams are some of the things you'll encounter. There are so many trails to choose from, you won't get bored for a while. Degree of difficulty varies from one trail to the next. Personal favorites includes some side trails that have you climb a steep and rocky hill, then puts you on the fast track down a narrow trail to a stream that you'll cross before you do it all over again. Great riding and close to home.
How to get there:
Route 18 North, past Rutgers main campus. Cross over the bridge, and get onto Metlar's Lane (now in Piscataway). Go for about a mile, then make a right hand turn onto Avenue E (Rutgers students know this as Livingston/Kilmer campus). Follow this to the end. Make right onto Road 3, and follow for a little while. You'll see the parking lot on the right. Trails are behind the parking lot.
Additional Notes:
You will come out dirty, bloody and bruised. Great riding and great fun.

great trails for the area, the discription is wrong, there is barely any hills. this is a place for anyone, about 15 ramps and 4 gigantic table tops, small kikers for the beginers, few easy wood bridge structures. nice place to by your self if you dont want to go to chimmney rock with others.

I realized once i got there that you all were being sarcastic. you should make that clear before people go and waste their time. it might have been a nice place for a walk or something....but nothing else. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This is a great trail and theres something for everyone. Theres generally flat trails where you can get a feel for mountain biking, or extremely steep and hilly trails for the more experienced. I live right down the road and go there all the time. I'm never disappointed!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..this place is only exciting when i ride at night with no lights..not very challenging. I would recommend it for a begineer rider or someone who wants to show off to his peers. otherwise stay home, do a couple tubes and clean your bike.

It is easy to see how "Dan" could give a rating like this. This trail is very confusing and complicated, you really need to go a dozen times to learn where the good parts of the trail are. I have gone hundreds of times and always find new things. The key here is to just keep exploring, it is easy to continue on the same easy loop in this place. Bring a GPS to find the good stuff.

i go to rutgers and this trail is pretty much a waste a time! if you just got into riding and want a little ride then go for it, but if your looking for some thing fun go to the "rock" in somersville.
