Great local ride i live in Pacifica and do this all the time. I would not call the descent boring! Hand fatiguing maybe but not boring! Views are incredible on clear days, on RARE clear days, fog can be heavy. Can also be accessed from Pacifica side.

Beginners will walk the steep part of the climb, about 1/3 of a mile. The fireroad is a great way to access some of the steepest rocky descending in the bay area. The fireroad is a tough climb, but really boring to descend. The view from the top is great.
