this is def. not in san francisco its actually in san mateo county and also there are way more trails than this one all close by in that area. if you dont like going up hill like me and my friend you have someone drop you off at the top which is located on skyline(35) which is at the summit of 92 they can then drive down and meet you at the bottom located on higgins purissima rd. accesed by hwy. 1 just south of Half Moon Bay

Mugg... you have been in the bay area for 30 years and you don't know where hwy 1 is? South on hwy 1 would be helpful, but hey lighten up.

have only done this loop once. it's not technical, but it is beautiful. and steep in some places. better purisima route is whittemore gulch (either in and out or WG/Hawkins fire road.) really now. Hawkins is doubletrack, but get real. riding up that is just sick at sprint pace. riding down is simply boring. Stick to the singletrack Whittemore for the descent. (Nice climb, too; but Hawkins isn't bad if you have the Unsane playing thru your iPod.)

this trail is in Half Moon Bay, as is Whittemore Gulch- same park.

Whoa there! Ive lived in the San Francisco Bay area for 30 years and been mt. biking for about 10, but ive got no idea where tthis is supposed to be... A city or county name would be nice! Lets see, "92" was mentioned... that goes from Hayward all the way to san mateo and the coast... maybe its under that big bridge out in the bay... "water bars" were mentioned!!

Grabtown Gulch is closed for the foreseeable future due to a bridge washout. Go straight up Borden Hatch to pavement and you can work your way to El Corte De Madera park (3 miles of pavement) where there is a ton of singletrack... consult a local map for directions.
