Thorn Creek (aka the roots)

Trail Description:
The roots, as the locals like to describe it, is a single track full of twists and turns, up and down hill, adrenaline rushing, something to write home about terrain. It starts off as a dual track but if you look off to your right there are many single track trails to choose from.

How to get there:
Take I-94 (dan-ryan/bishop-ford) south to the danville expwy continue south and exit on glenwood-dire road make a right then another right on dante and another immediate right onto the road with no street sign. This road leads along the expwy going north. It will lead you back on dante where you make a right and then a left at the 3 way intersection of glennwood lansing road make a right at cottage grove and a left at thorn creek forest preserve trails. there will be paved trails on your left and right. Take the right past the picnic shelter into the woods and youre on your way.

the roots have been built up since i last seen it, two years ago. there are many bridges over logs and you may find a teeter tot. the trail is a blast.

If you get to the railroad tracks and see the cemetary in front of you, you should ride down the tracks south to the next entrance to the trail, where you will find some nice single track also. Its past the creek aways.
