How to get there:

This a great trail if you like riding road bikes or have no real Off Road skills.
This place is flat, flat, flat !!! I would not really consider this a "Mountain Bike Trail" Just an off road trail for the "Off Roadies" as we call them.

I took my first ride off-road at Flatwoods and haven't looked back since. The trails are well-maintained, and some of the side trails do close from time-to-time to recover from use. I have ridden at least 3 days a week for the past 6 months and have never experienced a full trail closure.
There are 4 points of entry to the trail system:
1. Bruce B. Downs Entrance (north of I-75 and Bruce B. Downs). There is a parking lot here with bathrooms and a bike wash. This entrance offers access to the paved loop and trail system. The paved loop has 4 water stations, some with trail maps. You have to ride the paved section a bit to get to the Main trail, but there are a couple side trails, namely "Squiggy" and "Panther." Panther trail will hook you up to the main, but it is very rooty and can be tough for beginners.
2. Wilderness Park / Trout Creek (just east of the I-75 and Fletcher Ave intersection on Morris Bridge Road, Fletcher Ave changes its name to MB). Trout Creek is on the

I don't care what anybody says about Flatwoods, I love it. And as far as technical, all I can say is look out for HogWild...it's a doozy.

Flatwoods is part of a three park trail system which includes Morris Bridge, and Trout Creek parks. Good place for a training ride. The single track is fast, twisty and rooty although you must beware of the helmet less huffy riders and walkers. As for the paved loop, great for spandex viewing due to the nearby university.
