Trail Description:
New trail system just opened 6/3/2000. So far, there is one loop completed, Dwelling Loop. There is about a 1.5 mile doubletrack in to the first 3.5 mile loop. The loop is gently rolling singletrack, tight in spots and has some log crossings. Similar to Tsali. There are two more loops that will be constructed in summer / fall of 2000 so make sure you pitch in some volunteer efforts to make this a great trail system.

How to get there:
It's about 25 miles north of Atlanta. Go I-75 north to I-575 north to exit 11, Sixes road. Turn left and go about 1.8 miles to the parking lot entrance on the left. There`ll be a sign there. IF THE GATE IS CLOSED, THE TRAIL IS CLOSED.

Additional Notes:
Dwelling Loop direction changes daily. Sun, Mon, Wed & Fri - goes left. Sat, Tue & Thu - goes right

Pretty cool trail. Fast and not too technical. The actual distance is actually 4.1 miles

The previous description of the intermediate, advanced, and beginner trails is accurate. A new loop just opened that branches off of Mosquito flats. I ran it before I rode it to get an idea of what I was getting myself into. There is a pretty good bit of climbing and some really tight switchbacks that are right on the edge of a steep hill and the lake. It is safer to walk in some spots than to ride if you are not sure of yourself, but its a great workout.

the description of this trail is out-dated. There are three loops open at this time: Dwelling, Mosquito Flats, and The South Loop. Flats is the beginner loop and is approx. 1.5 miles. Dwelling is the intermediate loop and is 3.7 i believe. The South Loop is an advanced loop and measure about 4.5 miles. There is a new "North Loop" going in and i have heard rumors that it will be 10 miles of single track. Ive riden the rough trail they have cut and its going to be a tough one. Blankets has something for everyone. Be careful for joggers and pay attention to the signage as the direction on the intermediate and advanced loops changes daily. Also, this place gets packed on the weekends to be aware. Ive had to park across Sixes road and when ive gotten out on the trail ive only seen one or two other riders. In other words, dont be scared if you see 50 cars in the parking lot. There is tons of room for everyone. Please dont bring your dog on the intermediate or advanced loop, there isnt

I am just getting started with MTN biking but have enjoyed the beginner loop with my son and now after a few times around it have been around the intermediate loop a few times by my self. I have only been during the week so I am not sure how busy it gets over the weeks.

great trail system! i go about 3-4 times a week. there is a beginner trail thats really easy and great for warming up and cooling down. the intermediate trail (Dwelling Loop) is fast and and extremely fun with log crossings, some good downhill sections and great views of the surrounding lake. the advanced trail is a little longer and tighter. it has some even better downhills and more jumps that keep it fun. there is also a practice area out front to practice balancing and log crossings. the people are nice and the trail has a great setting. i just can't wait till they open up the North Loop which is still in the works. come out and ENJOY!

Trail is good for all skill levels. One correction for the site, though. There is about 10 mi. of trail, not 5.
