Trail Description:
Waveny Park is the site of the Waveny mansion and park grounds. it not only is a great place to ride some

decent trails, but also a great place to pack lunch and stretch out on the over 30 acres of lawns.

The trails offer the beginner a great place to encounter some stumps and rocks but without icing your bottom afterwards. It's also a great place to ride with the family.

How to get there:
The bike trails are located in the woods to the South of the Mansion and park.

Take the Merritt(Rt. 15) to exit 37 darien. Take a right at end of ramp, then take first right down Tallmadge Hill road to the intersection with a small white church on the left. Take that next right after the curch and drive 1 mile. Park on the right. Or you can enter the main Park entrance off of Route 124 in new Canaan

Don't bother, if you like any semblence of a work out. You'll probably get pulled over on the way there if you don't have a jaguar or a pink Izod with the collar up. The trail: Flat, boring, short. Not even good scenery b/c its right on top of the Merrit parkway. Super annoying ninny mommy joggers abound. Very crowded with snotty yuppies giving dirty looks. Maybe some corporate dude on a $5k bike who is afraid to get it scratched.

Is the bike trail the same trail I used to jog on in the 1970's. That was Beautiful, especially popping into the meadow after running through the tree covered portion. My daughter was married there.

Uh you will get more of a challenge riding on the road and dodging cars than you will at Waveny. It's a nice place for a walk or a run, but no place to ride.

We used to ride these trails on our sting rays with foot pedal brakes and still weren't challenged.
