Rt. 287 north to Skyline Drive, left off of exit. You'll see signs for Ringwood State Park. Turn right at the sign for the Botanical Gardens, and there are a few parking lots.

This is one of the best places in nj but if you don't know the trials you can get lost and end miles away from where you parked.I grew up there asnd love going back. great single track rioght out of the parking lot and fun tech stuff. you can ride for miles.

The Green trail is closed to bikes up and over Mt Defiance. However there is more than enough great riding on the blue and red trails below the ridge line to make up for that minor inconvenience. The heart of the park is where pierson ridge road intersects the natural gas pipeline from there there is all sorts of great stuff. Sort of the mtn bike equivalent of hiking from the chairlift to the double black diamonds in search of steep freshies. You get the drift....

This place rocks. I live nearby,, few miles from the Botanical Gardens. Ride all over NJ.I come back to Ringwood State Park with my riding buddies all too often. 6-7 mile race loop is great,, after a good rain,, it gets washed out, and no matter how many times you have been here,, the trail changes,, so it makes it that more difficult. You can come to this spot for 1 hour or so,, or stay all day and explore for hours. Then there is the back GREEN trail,, which is an awesome climb and decend. When I come here,, I spend 3 hours and change,, and do about 15 miles,, approx.Technical single/double track covers most of the ride.Of course there are fire roads in between. Lots of rocks,, bring a tube and air. GREAT RIDE !!!

GReat place to ride . Lots of long uphill fireroads to get the legs burning and fast technical singletrack. I've ridden there for years and am always exploring new trails. The race course is a nice 6-7 mile ride but I found a 14 mile loop that you never ride the touch the trail you start on.And I haven't even gone to the section off Skyline Drive yet. I 'll guess threre must be 30 miles of trails .Great rock garden. Bring extra tubes can be very rocky

There is a ton of riding in the park or off of Skyline Drive. I've ridden there for about 4 yrs and rarely, if ever, cross tracks with other riders. We normally ride out of Lot C. Takes a little while to get familiar with the trails but there are unlimited possibilites for all levels.

I have lived in Ringwood my whole life and nothing compares to it in the Tri-State area. Ringwood Manor has a little of everything which will satisfy the most enthusiastic bikers and hikers. I love to explore these trails and some of the views from the top of these mountains (hills) are tremendous. There is a course as well, but get a trail map and explore the mountain, you'll want to come back every week. (Be prepared for semi-rough conditions.)

this place is pretty big. i would definitely recommend having a map or guide the first time. besides the riding, the botanical gardens are very scenic and hold off on the hot dogs until completion of ride. getting back to the riding, ive only been there once but there are many hills to test your stamina. the terrain is mostly packed dirt with much rocky technical areas. i found myself finding fun little chutes to be quickly ended with a fire trail. although this was the scenario for the most of the day, the trails we found were challenging and fun but never very long. i wanted to try the racetrack but had a hard time following what i thought was the track. i dont think we properly rode the racetrack unless it consists of long gravel rock fire trails. like i said in the intro-ringwood is large and i feel i need to back with better guidance to really judge this place and also lay low on the reebs until i know my way around. will update

On nice days Ringwood State Park can be really crowded, On a busy day I go just a few miles away from the actual park and start out in the parking lot of M. J. Ryerson Middle School. The trails on this side of the park are a little more difficult, and most of the riders are locals, or people who got lost around Shepards Lake. To get here start out at Cupsaw Market , which is on the far side of the Cupsaw Lake Beach. Go up cupsaw Ave. And turn left on Bear mountain road. When you ge tho the end, turn right on Valley Road, and take a quick left Up Ryerson Hill, the school is directly in front of you and the trail access is on your right. Have fun
