Trail Description:
The mostly singletrack trail starts with a bang, but quickly dissolves into a tedious technical track. Trails intertwine and loop over and around each other. It is very easy to get lost and / or plow head-on into another rider. Most of the climbs are straight up-hill - no switchbacks here - and most of the downhill runs are too short. There are some jumps etc. for fun. If you want, you can do your best to hurt yourself in the BMX pit. Not a beginner's track. If you are in the area try this trail, but TK Lawless in Jones is the real thing.

How to get there:
Trail begins in Northeast corner of parking lot behind TimberRidge Retirement Community. Located 500 feet Northeast of intersection of US 31 Bypass and US 31.

I have heard of loops in a trail but what are logjumps, washouts and switchbacks? Other than Andrews University campus students can the public access this trail? I would like to know more. Anyone who has been on trail ride could help me out. click here

this is my hometown trail, it has a lot of technical elements, such as log jumps, washouts, and switchbacks, some down hills and steep climbs are a challenge, the elevation change is not listed, but my i-ride tracker says 900 ft of elevation change, and the ten+ miles takes about an hour plus to complete. trail is best ridden counterclockwise as previously mentioned. this trail is not "official" so it is not marked, as it is on privately owned property. summertime does bring the overgrowth, but it is ridden enough to have an established single track. if you plan on being in the area for a couple days it is well worth the time to check out. tk lawless park in Cass county is about 35 minutes east of this area, so a dual trail ride is a good possibility for the weekend warrior.

Pretty good trail. Lots of small technical parts, including some small jumps and hills. There are multiple loops within this trail, and even a small "bmx" pit off to the left where many trails combine. There are both single track and wide trails available, but be warned, parts of the single track take you out of the woods and into fields --- PRICKER BUSH ALERT!!! --- during the summer times, some of the fields get very prickly, but it's just a small part of the overall trail. There is also a small trail with a sign naming it a "nature trail..." this trail is meant for hikers, not bikers. The nature trail has lots of downed trees that you have to carry your bike over, and washed away trails so it's nearly impossible to ride. Also, there is a small portion of the trail that has 4 very quick up/down hills... at the top of the hills make sure you follow the path closely, just off to the side about 3 feet is a barbed wire fence protecting yo

This is my daily ride and it makes for a good training circuit, just don't plan on an epic ride. During the summer the trail gets quite over grown so be ready. The trails serve all skill levels. Trail is ment to be ridden counter clock wise but if you ride it backwards it adds alot of difficulty to the climbs.

Trail can't be named after a retirement home... Should be called Andrews trail or Berrien Springs trail. Anyway, I think this is a great trail network with good variety and enough miles to keep you busy for a few hours if you make a loop or two. Trail is not very busy and is the only one in a 30 mile radius. Makes a nice companion to Lawless and Custer.

This trail is actually a part of the Andrews University campus - that is why there are no trail markings. Great trail, although the hill climbs can be really tough. I'm a student at Andrews and ride it two or three times during th e week - weather permitting.
