this trail was on my bucket list. 4 mile climb to start, but not a deal breaker for most. the rest is the most incredibly gorgeous trail ever. Easy riding so long as you keep your eyes on the trail..big drop off. Now I know what everyone was talking about

Just rode the trail last summer, June 2008 for the first time and it was great. Really nice single track and the views are out of this world. THe climb is tough but well worth it.

I have been doing this ride for 15 years when you had to climb rocks to get thru portions, and it never gets old. The views, the serenity are worth it alone. Watch the soft sand at the end dumping down to the shuttle.

A really nice ride through some of the best scenery I have seen since I left Santa Cruz. Far too crowded. I ran over some ones dog on the downhill from marlett turns out I also ran over someones dogs poop too. just too many people in this world. I hear they are opening up a foot only trail, maybe this will improve things

I am a runner and frequently run this trail and in most cases I arrive at the top of the hill (4 miles) before the mountain bikers do if we start at the same time. Unless you're in real good shape, the bike riders must dismount and push their bikes on a lot of the hills. I enjoy running past the riders and tell them a 69-year old runner just past them.

Thank God I got some trail riding in early this year because the first 4 miles out of Spooner Lake is a constant 1000 ft climb. After that, it is all gravy. A nice downhill to Marlette(sp?)Lake and then off to the Flume! I cannot see how there is a more scenic trail anywhere else in the US! Beware the blind corners since the trail is 2 way & it is a loooong way down if you have to bail. I would love to have this close enough to ride on a regular basis.

Beautiful, awesome views. It was easier than expected, and lots of fun. I wonder if the locals know just how lucky they are. Everyone I met on the trails had a big smile. I look forward to returning some day to ride it again.
