Trail Description:
This is a nice ride on the north end of Claremont. The road starts with a fork at the beginning of the trail. If you stay to the right the grades are not as steep, but if you fork left the grade is steep for about 1 mile. As the trail continues there is also a fork that will take you to marshall canyon. this trail is popular for locals and others alike.
How to get there:
10 fwy exit indian hill blvd. proceed north and turn right on baseline. after making the right turn you turn left on mills. take mills to the end and park on the left

Good fire roads to climb up. Hard to really pick up any speed on the downhill sections as there are many blind corners and the roads are bi-directional and multi-use. Hikers really like to walk abreast and hog the width of the roads so be careful.

I'm a cross-country biker so I like scenic climbs. I started this ride at a park 2 miles to the west. There is a nice warm-up asphalt bike trail along the foothills that leads to the park. Took the first fork right and then the second fork right. No walkers after the second right and only 4 bikers (on New Year's Day). Great work out up to Potato Mtn and nice views of the Baldy area. 30-40 mph downhill speeds even though I was slowing at the corners for potential traffic. Plenty of adrenaline rush.

I have rode this trail plenty of times. Twice in the last week. Exit the 210 at Town Ave., cross Baseline and park on left next to tree. Take road trail east - slight uphill - to end and make left to trail head. It is a 9 mile round trip this why. Worth the ride.

Nothing but climbing in the hot dry sun, then on the way down you have to go slow because there are horses and joggers everywhere. All cardio workout, no mountain biking. Yawn

The ride up to Potato Mtn, while all fireroad, gets extremely steep near the top, and the downhill must be muted due to the multi-use nature of the trails. Still fun

This is a great training ride trail as it's 100 % truck trail.Nothing technical at all.But it is good for a workout as you'll climb about a 1000 feet in 2.5 miles. They have a lot of riders there on the weekdays after work usually on Tues & Thurs.A lot of ss'ers do timed laps and usually do two to three laps.Another good route is to go up the Burbank side (Left at the first fork) and then climb to the next fork with the gate and take another left then just follow the signs down thru Marshall. You'll get some fair singletrack here with a couple of jumps along the way.You can exit out on Baseline and take the street back to Towne Ave to the bike path back to the park.Makes a 14 mile loop if you do it this way.Or climb up to Potato going the opposite way. This is a good climb that is an out and back. You'll get some good views on this route and it's hardly traveled compared to the otherside.

The climb is about a 1.8 mile climb & is very dry, It is not like Chino hills were all the Fred's ride & there is no real hills to climb.
