Trail Description:
If you begin at the falls you get the hardest part done first, The back side of the falls. Once you have crossed the swinging bridge you have to carry (or push) your bike across the shale (1-1.5 miles) while on the shale you get a bueatiful view of the falls. Once you reach normal ground again you have around 10 miles of single and doubletrack till you reach the other end of the trail.

How to get there:
You can start at the Kootanai Falls turnout and travel across the railroad bridge then over the Swinging Bridge; or, you can traven down the Kootanai River Road to the end (thats where the trail begins) and go from there.

Additional Notes:
You won't regret riding this trail.

i grew up on this trail and as an avid biker i can say it is one of the best trails in the NW part of the state of Montana
