Trail Description:
The petersburg battlefeild state park, is a great after work ride. These trails are ridden primarily by millitary members becase it's convienently adjacent to Fort Lee. Many rolling hills about one bike wide and multiple terrain featurs. Switchbacks, climbs, and descents by no means begginer though. From gravel, multch, pete rock, sand, and mud. It's a great time!

How to get there:
From Richmond Va. take I-95 south to 295 south and take exit 9B. Turn right onto route 36 and follow the signs for about 2 miles. The entrance is on the right side (very easy to find, Historical landmark, if lost follow signs)

Additional Notes:
There is a $2.00 park entrace fee if you enter by car.

Ive been riding there since 94 and Ive seen the trails get better with time. Poor Creek is a awesome trail. its a great place to ride especially when rehabing a knee, etc or training to get in racing shape what it klacks in technicalality it makes up for in character and flow. over 12 miles of trails that all but 1 interconnect somewhere with a very fast 6 mile outer loop

first off unless you either live on base at fort lee or want to park and ride in from petersburg(ha,ha)you will have to pay the $5.00 park fee to ride.so i paid the park fee.what little single track they do have there is not technical at all, most of what they do have is fire roads double track.fun for a family ride or if you are intrested in history.the most technical part of this trip was manuvering through petersburg without being shot at.

Been having fun here since last summer and stays good all winter. Starts fast with 3 good down hills then gets tough with lots of switch backs then fire roads with ACTUAL JUMPS!!! NO JOKE. fire roads ride real fast then back to technical by the end. Having a blast here!
