Trail Description:
Ride back on 3S27 to the main intersection.
-Go west on 3S22. In about 1 mile you will come to a meadow, there are two routes here, the best route is to your left. The two routes meet up later.
-Stay to your right as you go along side the meadow.
-Just keep staying to your right till you cross a creek, then keep left.
-Go across Deadman Creek and take a right onto Deadman Creek Rd. This is a main road that becomes wider in a little bit.
-Stay on the main road, at about 5 miles into the ride you will come to a major intersection. There are campgrounds down both roads.
-Just stay on the road till you reach2S29, then take a right and head south. If you want to stay on Deadman Creek Rd and you will come back to Mammoth Scenic Loop.
-Now take a right onto 2S29 D, this will become 3S22 and this will take you back to the main intersection you started at.
How to get there:
From Hwy 203 head west through Mammoth Lakes. About 1 mile out from Lake Mary Rd turn right onto Mammoth Scenic Loop Rd. Go down about 3 miles to the Inyo Craters turnoff, it is signed. Turn left onto 3S30 and go up to parking lot at the craters.

December 14, 2011#1. (and most important): Have fun and try not to take it too sueiors, I mean that is why we are all there2. Help a fellow runner (or hiker, biker, non-threatening animal), it may be you that needs help one day3. Leave no trace, we are all out on the trails to enjoy the beauty, lets help to preserve it4. Break some rules, go off a training plan for a day, eat a slice of pizza and have a beer5. Always plan to be on the trail longer than you expect, have adequate food and water in case you feel good and run long or get stuck on the trails with an injury6. Train up, try to find people who are more advanced then you and run with them, become a sponge and listen to their advice7. Try to run without music, keep the focus on your body, mechanics and the environment around you8. Listen to your body, it does not like it when you push it beyond its limits (or neglect to push it and leave it at rest too long)9. Rest: when your body tells you too, especially after and injury, t

Well I believe there are a few parts to this trail. The one I went on was actually called the Inyo Crater trail. Not the roads to get to the Inyo Crater. There is one loop, but a turn-off for the inner loop and if you keep going you will go on the outer loop. Pretty much flat rolling terrains with a lake/stream to ride through. Only 2 or 3 50yard uphills. Total ride approxiamately 12-14miles for the outer loop. I'll post pictures when I get them uploaded on the computer.

Great 45-60 minute loop. Only downer is the high traffic (cars, trucks, motorcycles) in the summer. Great warm up for the begginer rider.

This trail provides beautiful views of the surrounding peaks, including Mammoth and the Minarets. You can take a short side trail to see the actual Inyo Craters from which the ride takes its name. A great ride for those just getting into MTBing.[The nearest city is actually Mammoth Lakes, not Bishop.]
