Trail Description:
Very good with nice paths for begginers and very rugged terrain for experts. A great mountain biking day out for every one. And if you don't like to ride you can walk.
How to get there:
Follow the signs to Gisburn!

Rode the red trail yesterday and it was excellent. The new investment for the single track routes has vastly improved the experience. Signage still needs to be sorted which is why I didn't give it a 5. This caused us to get disorientated once and head back on ourselves but once that has been sorted it is excellent.

Went there today. Found it quite good, the DH was intreresting!! Will be a great place when the new singletracks are finished. Need to get the direction sorted out surely you should not be able to go both ways on them?

I use Guisburn my Crosser as it is local. but it is not challenging anough if you stick to the marked routes, ok for flat out speed work

Hiya, i am one of the 8 mountain bike ranger patrols in the area, my job is to patrol the bike park and ensure the safety of cyclists and pedestrian hikers. If you are looking for a downhill track, the best option would be to follow the red route to the top until you come to a clearing, However the route does not run all the way down as halfway there are signs posted requesting that cyclists dismount for there own and everyone elses safety.

A good trail, with a good mix of surfaces, climbs, downhill and obstacles. I particularly enjoyed riding past the sign that said "caution severe incline - cyclists dismount". However, despite being a waymarked route I ended up going round in circles towards the end, would be interested to know if anyone else ran into problems. Will definately return.

Hi went to Gisburn yestreday, did the red route and really enjoyed it, on the way round I noticed lots of nice looking ruff trails that spurred off through thte forest, I was with my missus who preferes a nice easy trail rather than ruff single track so we stayed on the red route fire roads, but I intend to go back with my buddies, can anyone please reccomend some good downhill trails at gisburn? as alot arent sign posted, would they appear on any maps? thanks badger

XC is alright, but the downhill courses littered around the forest are excellent. The main one starts at the top of the red route in a clearing and contains drops, jumps and bermed corners.

Thought it was great 7 months ago when i started riding again but since ive sampled the delights of Coed Y Brenin, The North Face Trail at Grizedale and Glentress it just doesnt compare, good for fitness training because its local, has loads of potential for improvement but at the moment, other than the off piste sections its just an average place to ride.
