I like this trail better going downhill. That could be because the one time I rode all the way up to Abineau Canyon my tire's bead gave out and blew up the tube. That was a crappy walk all the way back down. Now I hitch a ride up to Lockett Meadow and ride up to the waterline road and down. The terrain isn't challenging, just a flat gravel road gradually descending down the mountain. Even the climb isn't hard. It just takes a long time. The trail ends just down the road from Shultz Creek Trail, which is 3 more miles of fun trail going downhill, all the way to the trailhead where your ride is waiting for you.
