Ride Summary:
Utah sandstone, much less popular than Slickrock and by some accounts better riding.

Trail Description:
Sandstone native to the Moab / Arches geography. Wide open terrain where you choose where to tread. Tread softly however, black marks are easy to make.

From the first campsite parking area, ride the dirt road approx. 0.5 miles into Bartlett Wash. You will see several access trails or tracks on your right. Choose your own adventure and have fun. You may slog through deep sand at first, depending a where you go.

How to get there:
North of Moab. Get a map. Drive on Hwy 191, Northbound. Approx. 12 miles out of Moab, take a left on non-descript dirt road (if you cross the train tracks on Hwy 191, you've gone just a tad bit too far). Drive approx. 3 miles and take a left on another dirt road. Approx. 2 miles, hang a right (dirt road) after crossing a wash which may or may not be dry. If the road has not dipped down and crossed a wash before you take the right turn, you have not gone far enough.

Once on the road into the wash, I recommend parking at the first campsite (not a regulated campsite, but very obvious) and riding on in from there.

Additional Notes:
Motorcyclists may be around.

This is the place to go to learn to ride the slickrock. Conditions range from 1-5 in difficulty and it just depends on your direction or stunt. Dirt roads there were no big deal in the PU, sandy. Expect biting flies when it's hot so keep moving. Fun, fun, fun.

More like a playground than a trail. Interesting to explore, but lacks single track. Beautiful sandstone formations. A setting sun provides great photo 'op.

Great place just got back from there!! The road wasn't the best to get there (kind of like Saskatchewans highways!!) Once there at the campground unload and ride up on the slickrock. Great place to practice up on your slickrock skills. Be carefull though there's stuff ther that you can kill yourself on!! I would say it ranges from technically easy to "watch out or you be going to the hospital"!!!Have fun ridin the slickrock!

The Good: Unique terrain, less crowded than Slickrock, fun to explore without a trail. The Bad: Far from town, road to the trailhead is brutal, area is relatively small.
