JB's right. This loop is the way I prefer to do it and for out-of-towners, if you park at the base of Cranmore, you can do a hot-tub and shower at the end of the ride at the Athletic Center. My wife recently rode up Redtail and then decended a connector coming from Peaked Mtn which she said was a ripping experience.

Lets first say it time for an update on Mount Cranmore area there a new trail in town and its name is the Red tail trail. Basic orientation: The Red tail trail runs between Hurricane Mountain Rd and the Cranmore – Black cap connector trail. It is three miles long, passing thought six-logged clearing on Conway conservation land that offers fantastic views north to Kearsarge Mountain and the presidential range and beyond. Mountain bikers built this trail.Three are at least three ways to approach the trail. The best way to get the feel of this trail in detail is to ride up it, yes I said up. Its 1200 feet of elevation gain. If you ride up, then you know what you’re in for on the way down. There are two ways to get on it at the bottom: behind the green water tower on the south side of Hurricane Mountain Rd or at the log landing a half mile up the hill. It’s not marked at the bottom, but it’s hard to miss. If you park at Kearsarge Mountain trailhead on the north side of the road. Which is cr

Just went out and road this yesterday. Instead of riding the pavement up Hurricane mountain Road you can ride Cranmore tote road to the top of Cranmore and catch a trail to Black Cap that is on your right, before the summit. This way you stay on dirt the whole time.

This is a great loop. Park at Cranmore Ski area and bike out to Hurricane Mt. road. Take a right turn and cycle to the top, this is a challenging climb on hard top. Black Cap trail is at the top of the road and is still a long cimb to the top. At the top you have a panoramic view of Conway and Kearsarge mt. The ride down take a left on cranmore trail which is a great down hill trail. At the end of this trail take a left on double track and at the bottom is Cranmore Mt. parking lot.Enjoy
