Trail Description:
This is a fun loop combining fire roads and singletrack through rolling hills and offering some fabulous views. There is one main fire road loop that is then bisected by a few other trails that allow you to cater the length of ride to your preferences. From the park headquarters head up the fire road and keep right. You will quickly see Fish Trail off to your left. You can take this or keep going until you reach the Middle Ridge trail which cuts the park in half. These are the two best starting points. There is a map posted at the park headquarters.
How to get there:
From HWY 101 take the East Dunne Avenue Exit. Go East on East Dunne and follow the signs to the Anderson Reservoir. Go past the reservoir to a dead end at Henry Coe Park Headquarters.

Not beginner trail.
Author of article is dead wrong about coe.
better get your info correct or some rider could
end up dead.
better yet don't write mtb or adventure sport
articles go back to writing about the glue you've
been huffing. same goes for dirtWorld's editors.

having ridden 3000 miles for each of the past 5
years in henry coe, i feel that i've got a handle on
things out there. firrst off, DO NOT ride out of the
park headquarters at the top of Dunne ave. Go to
the hunting hollow entrance. Exit highway 101 at
San Martin av. turn left and follow the road and it
will turn into New Rd. Go to Roop rd and turn left.
Go 5.5 miles to the Hunting Hollow entrance. The
parking lot is on the right. For an easy 7 mile out
and back (350 ft gain) ride to the far end of the
parking lot and go through the gate. It's a fire road
with 15 creek crossings (dry through most of the
year). For intermediate and above riders ride out of
the parking lot and continue 2 miles down the
paved road and enter the park at the Gilroy hot
springs gate on the right at the bridge (Coyote
Creek) The first trailhead is 100 yds on the right.
It's Spike Jones and the first part is real steep - 600
ft. gain in the first 5/8 mi. it ge

super-easy. a few climbs here and there, but mostly nice singletrack for the ladies. i particularly enjoyed a frsh section of off-camber downhill singletrack thru the woods at about 17% grade. nice and mellow. most of my sponsered semi-pro friends dismounted, but they are all beginners, so it was cool. i recommend this ride to all my buddies who come to vist from LA.
