Trail Description:
This is a technical and challenging ride. It starts with a steep 2.5 mile climb but is then rewarded with 4 miles of killer singletrack. The singletrack is extremely technical and is not for the faint at heart. This then hooks up with another fire road that will then lead you back to Box Springs Mountain Rd. which you can take 1.5 miles back to your car.

How to get there:
From HWY 215 take the Barton Rd. Exit. Go East into Grand Terrace. Many people park in town and ride up. Or you can drive up Mt. Vernon Rd which turns into Pegeon Pass Rd. Follow this up to Box Springs Mountain Road and turn right. From here is about 1.5 miles to the gate and some limited parking.

From Barton Rd. you go down (South) Mt Vernon Road not up (North).

This is a 19 mile ride if you start in Grand Terrace. Rides were organized from the now defunked Blue Mountain Cyclery near Barton and Mt Vernon. The Route went south on Mt Vernon then up Pigeon Pas rd.(killer fire road climb)then right Box Springs road and up to the towers and then down the single track, behind the housing tract, pasing the green water tank, back to Pigeon Pas rd. and back to Grand Terrace. *NOTE* Please don't cut the switchbacks, it's screwing up the trail. Thanx

This can be all single- track (13 miles) if you start at two trees trail just north of UCR. It is steep, narrow and packed dirt with a few rocks to get over and two stream crossings. Advanced riders only. Way too hot in the summer but perfect in fall, winter, and spring.
