Trail Description:
This area is only good for an easy and casual ride. Only trails 8 feet wide or wider are open to bikes. This means no singletrack. Because the trail's solid gravel base, they are rideable year round. If you're a novice looking to build your confidence, or you're looking for a foul weather ride, this may be worth a look.

How to get there:
From Darien, take I-55 South and take the Cass Ave. S. Exit. Follow Cass Avenue for less than a mile and you'll see the preserve on your right. Turn right onto North Gate Rd. and another right into the parking lot.

This place is beautiful. I have been going there since the early sixties when my mom used to take us. We new it as Rocky Glen. I agreee that it is eerie in a good way.

For some time I've worked in the compound inside the 10 mile trail, but recently got into Biking and decided to give it a run. It was a great introductory trail, but don't get lost. I found myself many a dead end going through the hiking trails instead of the biking trails.

This flat 9-mile trail is excellent for endurance, but can become a little crowded on the weekends. Many riders are un-aware of all the horse trails that run through the entire park. One in particular begins right next to the old stone foundation at the south end of the main trail. Head up the rock covered path and enjoy the narrow rooted trails. Bit of advice, don't get lost.

I love the veiw out at WFG,but it has an erie feeling at times. Almost like Bachlor's Grove.I only had a couple of problems with some strange men, but I carry a weapon now, because too much can happen riding alone. The police can not always protect you, you have to protect yourselve.
