Trail Description:
This 3,000 acre ranch is packed with lots of fun fire roads and singletrack. The best place to start is the Chapparel Loop. This will take you through a good portion of the area and allow you to see the wide variety of options available. Along the loop you will see countless spur trails. All are a blast. It'll take you a couple visits to experience it all.

How to get there:
From I-15 take the Del Norte Parkway exit just North of Escondido. Go East on Del Norte for about 4 miles to La Honda Rd. Turn left on La Honda and follow the signs to Lake Dixon. The trailhead is at the entrance to the lake.

Better know where you are going before you start. I had a trail map but still wound up out of the park and had to ride the road to get back to the car. The trails that I did see were fun-I just wish I hadn't gotten lost!

Been riding this trail for a while now. Getting really dusty this summer. We could use some rain. A few single track trails have been posted to stay off. But it don't matter, those trails are not worth riding anyways. Stay on the normal trails, have fun. There now are maps at the entrance of the trail. Take two water bottle, it is hot in the summer here.

Living in San Diego for 9 years I rode Daley Ranch at least 3 times a week. It has a little bit of everything including some nice technical singletrack. For a hairy section check out the trail that drops down from the water tower. It's scary but makeable.
