Ride Summary:
Trail is mostly fire roads with some single track to keep it interesting.
Trail Description:
Most of the trail consists of old logging roads. There is just enough single track to make it fun. However, not enough to satisfy your hunger for a smooth narrow ribbon of dirt! As if we could ever be satisfied! Be aware of equestrian traffic.
How to get there:
Directions: From Auburn take Hwy 38A for 15 miles. You will come to a stop sign, Hwy38A will turn to the right, you need to continue straight through the stop sign. Proceed to the next intersection and turn right onto Route 41A. Stay on 41A for 15 miles until you come to the Colonial Lodge Restaurant, park in back of the restaurant, trail starts from there.
Additional Notes:
Please stay off trail when wet. If bikers continue to ride while wet we will all be banned.

Prior to listening to this sack I did my hoemrowk and actually watched the film. I have to agree it was a pretty awful film. For whatever reason I was convinced Alice was the same actress as the one from Convoy. Aside from their hair they bare no resemblance. Seriously why was that hair style ever popular? It's just a whole lotta awful. To her credit, and my surprise she was also in escape from New York, one of my favorite films. Great cast from what is certainly a forgettable film.

Lots of good riding. Something for everyone. Lately ATV's have been in there where they don't belong, so, expect a lot of trail damage.

Nice manageable climbs that give you a good work out. Downhills are nice and quick with some spots to watch for(bridges/drops/trees). Can be muddy but that can be fun. Lots of trails to combine a good 2-3 hour ride. But I generally ride a loop that takes an hour. Watch for dirtbikes and horses at times.

The skill level is actually more like something for everyone. Trails range from nice wide and easy to fairly challenging single track. Since it is State Land there are trail maps available around the parking areas (look for the mailbox) There is some mud to contend with as well as horse droppings (they use the trail too). Good place to ride, make a day out of it!

I disagree with the first review, there is a lot of very good singletrack at the swamp, you just have to find it. I estimate there is ay least 15 miles of pure single track.
