A bucket of trails to choose from.

How to get there:
From Newburgh take I-84 West to Exit 5. Take right onto Route 208. Go through two stop lights and turn a right onto Route 17. Continue for about 1 mile until you come to Barrons Road on your right. The access to the trails are located at the overpass on Barrons.

For a trail map go to the ny dec web site and look for stewart forest. click on publications, forms and maps link then on the forests link. only problem with it is most of the trails are not on any map. It is easy to get turned around since it about 7000 acres of land! If you familiarize yourself with main roads you will be fine. It is a great time with all the trails you could ask for.

Well, I haven't road this yet, but apparently, you haven't needed a permit since 2001 when the land was sold to to the DVC. So this is way out of date. And this caps lock message comes on only when I use the shift key, and not caps lock.
