This trail is good for a really relaxing ride. The views are nice, nothing to climb or hop. Remember to yield to horses.

To get around the businesses you will need to go down Scottsville Road and turn right on Ballantyne. We have ridden the trail from there all the way to Allegheny County. There are some breaks in the trail most noticeably at Sonyea. The best place to pick it up again is on State Route 406 near Nunda by the golf course. From there the ride through Letchworth Park is breathtaking. The Greenway joins FLT along through there and is our favorite part of the trail.

The telephone number of the Friends of the Genesee Valley Greenway is 716-658-2569 This is a correction of the number listed in this web page. Go to the fogvg web page to find a description of where the trail goes after the paved section ends. Right now it requires riding south on Route 383 to Route 252. Turn right (west) on 252 and the trail starts again less than half a mile from this intersection. You can identify it by the yellow gates and signs. From there (the Ballantyne Road trail head) you can ride all the way to Cuylerville in Livingston County, a distance of about 25 miles. If you have questions, contact me, Fran Gotcsik, Executive Director of the Friends of the Genesee Valley Greenway at fogvg@aol.com
