Trail Description:
There are a ton of trails here to explore. Unfortunately because there are a ton of trails, it is easy to get lost so plan enough time to find your way back. Cedro Peak offers some of the best riding in the state. You will be treated to spectacular views, tight twisty singletrack, rocky technical trails and smooth ripping rides. Be warned though, Cedro Peak is over 6,000 feet up so air is thin and weather changes are rapid.

How to get there:
From Albuquerque head East on I-40 to the Tijeres Exit. Exit and stay to the right. Go past the ranger station and keep going until you see the signs for Cedro Campground. Follow the signs to the parking area.

Additional Notes:
Rapid and dramatic weather changes are common. Be prepared.

Cedro trail kicks ass and is close enough to albuquerque that you could enjoy the ride and not be pushed for time. Be carefil with the out for the many chupacabras in the area

If you are looking for a great ride Cedro peak is the place. If you are from out of town call Bike World and ask for me. I don't work their but they know who I am and I will be happy to show you the trails in Albuquerque area. Cedro is the most fun; fast, narrow, technical, or easy, slow, and wide. What ever you would like Cedro has it and I know it. Have a safe day, Waylon

Cedro is the best riding close to ALBQ(especially since they closed so much of Otero). I've never used a map, but would suggest picking one up. If you have the time, you'll find your way out. Navigational scenses will help you here. The rock-slab climbing will test your skills in the saddle. Enjoy!

Great trails for the semi-experienced rider. Great views from the top of the trails. Grab a map, you will need it. Some great technical riding, worth the time.

This extensive network of trails offers great variety and alot of start/end and route options. The map available at the Two Wheel Drive bike shop or the Ranger Station just South of I40 on the Tijeras exit is a must. Even with the map I got off my intended route and had to ask local riders for directions. Sandia Peak to the North and the Antena on Cedro Peak provide good navagational land marks. Although the locals have names for all the routes, only the main dirt road is marked and many spurs and trails are not mapped.

Definetly some of the best biking near Albquerque, start 1/2 up from ranger station, go up dirt road then quick right onto singletarck at telephone line. Get a map in town at Two Wheel Drive, they have their own map that is absolutely necessary, there are many many fine trails here with excellent climbs and good technical downhills.

Agreed, great choice of trails up at Cedro. Best riding in the Albuquerque area. You can also start the ride from a parking area about 1/2 mile from the ranger station. The Cedro Campground is about 5 miles up south 14. The ranger station sells a map entitled "Cedro Peak Trails" for $5 that was created by Charlie Ervin.
