Trail Description:
There are a few different trails here, though most ride the main trail that extends to North Branford. Most trails are casual, but you can get moving pretty fast through the rolling terrain. There are a few "killer climbs" as well.

How to get there:
From I-95, take Exit 54 and go towards the center of Branford on Cedar Street. At the next intersection, take a left onto Route 1. After about 1.5 miles turn left onto Chesnut Street. This will lead you to Supply Ponds. You can park on the other side of the small bridge near a gate.

There is something for everyone here flats, hills, steep drops, you just have to know where to go... 911 is a steep drop of 1/4 mile where everybody gets injured, I broke my shoulder and another time my rib..the corkscrew is a blast as well.. the 70 degree hump is good for an adreneline rush.. cool place

Great Place!!! Good warmup loop. Watch out they gonna tear it down and build A housing complex. The city is currently fighting it.

There are definately areas of this trail that far excede the beginner level. That last biker comment must have been from a guy that went on the weinie trail.

I ride the Supply Ponds trails often as I live nearby. The trails around the ponds aregood for beginners and as a warm up. There is a trail called the "Ravine" that climbs for a ways and leads you to the best trails in the park. There are some trails there that are definitely not for beginners. It is a great palce to ride. Be careful as it is a multi access park; you will meet walkers (including young children), dogs, runners, horses, other cyclists and even motorized ATV's up in the back section. It is not the palce for fast, careless riding.

I ride this trail regularly, mostly because it is down the street from where I work. I agree that a large part of the trail could be qualified as a beginner ride, althought there are plenty of areas that are far beyond beginner. For example, there is a trail called the corkscrew, a fast, winding, loose surface, downhill. Its great to bomb down it. Then there is the 911 trail; the name speaks for itself. Both of these trails are not located on the "main" trail of the pond, but can be easily found by being a bit venturous, or by asking some local bikers you may run into. Overall, the supply pond is a great ride, especially if you only have an hour or two to burn.

These are great for beginners. They aren't challenging, but are a great way to bgin biking.
