Trail Description:
There are a ton of trails to explore in this large forest. Finding your favorites will take some time though. There is everything from fast rollercoaster singletrack, to technical climbs to hike-a-bike sections. The best place to start is with the trail along the left side of the lake. Have fun exploring.
How to get there:
From Route 9, take Exit 6 and go West on Route 148. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Cedar Lake Road. Follow Cedar Lake Road for about 1.5 miles and turn left again at the sign for Pattaconk Lake. Park in the gravel lots at the end of this road.

The trails at this massive state park can be downright suicidal. That is what makes it so damn good. If you can find the dirt access raod, you will find all the most suicidal and truly magnificant trails I have seen in the area. You should know however that the rangers are seldom available so if you get severly hurt your buddies will be dragging your sorry ass for quite some way. Wear a big strong ehlmet because you will fall on theses trails!

this place is awsome it has technical single track to steep downhills. There are many more trails around besides the ones near the lake. There are some down the road past cedar lake just take a right and then the first left onto wintrop rd or route 148. go halfway down this road and on the right there will be a place to park and a lot more trails. If you go by it you will end up by a church just turn around it is not that hard to find but has some great riding. I have been riding out here for two years every weekend and have only run into 5 people. p.s. watch out for quads and dirt bikes

This place is my favorite anywhere. I live 2 miles from it and bike it all the time, but still don't know much of it. I have to stress knowing where you are and staying with someone, because these 15,000 acres seem endless, and you're not likely to see anyone else. And the variety is equally impressive. I run a website with some maps and info about this and other great places, check it out at www.lane.st

Off Route 148, you'll actually turn right onto Cedar Lake Road. The trails here run the gamut. There's everything from dirt roads to buffed out singletrack on which you can FLY, to some nice technical riding. You'll see other riders infrequently, so be careful of not getting lost. The place is freakin' huge.
