Ride Summary:
Some trails can get pretty extreme, but many trails are suitable for the sport and advanced riders.
Trail Description:
There is a map at the trailhead that shows some of the trails, but there are many more than shown to explore. The trails on the East side of the Connecticut River Valley is much more rugged and hilly than the West side. The best bet is to create a loop around the outer edges of the park and enjoy the great technical singletrack, spectacular views, and overall fun ride.
How to get there:
Take Route 66 towards East Hampton. In Cobalt, turn South onto Route 151. Follow 151 for about 2.5 miles and park at the small lot adjacent to the traffic light at the intersection of Hog Hill and Hurd Park Road.

Great small trail system, new trails have been added over the past few years. Some are fast, some are slow, steep quick climbs. Not for beginners, awesome for experienced riders.

In general, this should be renamed to Turd Park. If you like lots of long uphills preceded by long, non-challenging downhills, then this is the place for you. There is a descent trail on the southwestern side that had a nice ridge ride and a few good downhills, but the trail entrance was not marked very well and was not nearly long enough to be entertaining. My general conclusion is: if you want a rocky, loopy, bumpy single-track, this is not the place. If you are going for a ride with nontechnical riders and just want to get out and possibly have a picnic (and drink yourself into oblivion because the ride is so lame) then this is a great place.

The White mountain trail is the most technical yet rewarding with great views of the CT river. There are sections that are a challenge but over all a good mixture. I wish it was a little longer.

This place is beautiful. Some trails bring you right to the CT River. When the dude says it is technical, he's not messing around. Your legs will feel like cement once your done, but the place is great for an intermediate rider looking to advance their skills.
