Ride Summary:
Beautiful old roads linking Flagstaff to Sedona
Trail Description:
Enjoy this beautiful ride through old wagon dirt roads that link Flagstaff with Sedona. Start at Frontier Ave 3E and ride for about 4 miles until you come to a T. Turn right onto Schoolhouse Draw. Stay right and ride for another 2.5 miles until you reach a paved road, Mountainaire Road. Take a right and shortly after turn left on Old Munds Highway (FS 700). This great section drops down for about 17 miles to the intersection with FS 133. Take a right on FS 133. Two miles later you'll come to a T. Take a right onto FS 240 and look for the next left (about 1.3 miles), FS 9492D. This rough trail takes you up for about 2 miles. At the summit, turn left at the T and ride all the way to the intersection with FS 226 (3 miles). Turn right and ride all the way over I17 and down Schnebly Hill Road to Sedona. Enjoy a well deserved meal and drive back to Flagstaff. Of course, if you feel up to it, you can ride all the way back to Flagstaff.
How to get there:
The trailhead is located 2.5 miles southeast of Flagstaff on Lake Mary Road. The trail starts at Frontier Ave 3E on the left side of Lake Mary Road when coming from Flagstaff.
