Look for Mega Dip - a 30 foot deep dirt half pipe, and Boneshaker - a rooty & rocky descent that will test your handling skills. There is a maze of trails here that all loop together. No real specified routes, just ride! The park is not so big that you'll get lost and not make it home for diner.

How to get there:
From Wilmington, DE take I-95 to 896 South. Take the first right at Old Baltimore Pike. Go right on Whitaker Road. The entrance to the park is about 1.5 mi. on your right. Follow the road to the upper parking lot - several trails begin from this point.

Just a message to all - please come and enjoy the park; New Castle County has gone to great lengths to create an enviornment that is family friendly. A bark park, frisbee golf and a large playground have been added in addition to stepped up police patrols and a civilian park watch. We are working hard to restore the park's reputation and will continue to prosecute any lewd/illicit behavior. Come out to enjoy the park's amenities.

Jim, I drove by and noticed that it was closed off. I am interested in biking hiking there but where can you park and find access to the trails now?

Posted by: Jim on 1/8/2008
The park has been closed to vehicle traffic due to lewd and illegal behavior occurring on the property. Access to trails is still available, but beware, there are arrests being made of those without reason to be there.

there is a bunch of legend and lore about iron hill. You should definately make this a "day trip" due to the eerieness of the woods. Overall it is a very unique trail in delaware.

Totally EXTREME!!! Packed with almost- straight downhill sections (stuff that could make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end). Not too much uphill also.

Some nice intersecting trails here. Nothing difficult, great for beginers. The trails don't really loop and you will easily end up back on the parks main road. A nice relaxing ride. there are some extremly steep hills to go up and down if you like but can be avoided easily. A good ride.
