Ride Summary:
Flat terrain makes for easy exploration of this park. The trail description connects 3 small loops.
Trail Description:
The trail starts out on Bee Oak Road near the ranger office. Take a right at Hidden Springs Road. At the end of Hidden Springs Road, turn left on to Sunset Road. At just over 1.7 miles look for Forest Road and take a right continue on the road through the gate. Turn right onto Plantation Trail. This trail comes to a T when it meets Swamp Trail - take a left here. At 4 miles you'll come to Forest Road again, take a left. At 4.8 miles turn right on Mistletoe Road (really a trail). Pass through a gate and at Crossroads Road turn left continuing straight. Turn left on to Forest Road, at 7.2 miles turn left on Bee Oak and head back to the ranger office.
How to get there:
From Washington D.C. head South on Branch Ave heading towards Waldorf. Look for Cedarville Road and turn left going another 2+ miles turning right onto Bee Oak and head to the park office.
Additional Notes:
Bring water, some facilities, call (301) 888-1622 for more information.

Big Ring Country: very fast and mostly flat. No real hills of which to speak. The only rocks I spotted were probably put there selectively by trail maintanence folks to solve water-logged trail issues. I agree with Lindsey (see below) that the first mile of the Green trail is the most fun (lots of short dips and fairly twisty). The blue trail offers some good, fast riding. The roots are fairly numerous, but nothing big at all.
All things considered, Cedarville is an ok place to get a ride in if its close to you. I work in Upper Marlboro, so I decided to go check it out after work yesterday. Given the choice, I prefer Rosaryville not only because its closer, but because its (slightly) more technically challenging. I guess it depends on what you're looking for, really. Cedarville is a nice intro to the sport and a place to practice novice skills.
Happy trails.

Oh yeah, the entry fee is $3 and is on the honor system. Please don't break it.

This is a fun place for beginner/intermediate riders, but more experienced will probably find it mundane. There are several different trails; my personal favorite is the first mile of the green trail--very hilly and twisty.
The trail is very well-marked; you won't get lost. You can also combine different trails for a longer ride, since none of the individual trails is very long.

TRails are marked Orange, blue, green, brown, and white. Orange and blue are the best, although you can combine all of them.

Great place to ride. All wooded and very nice. There was a little mud in many places and some was pretty deep but still fun. I recommend this ride for beginners that want a little more challenge that just flat dry roads. Some good single track in here to have fun with.

Plenty of opportunity to go fast as its rarely crowded due to the $2.00 entrance fee.

Relatively easy, but loads of fun. There is very little elevation change with lots of tight twisty single track.Oh, and a $2 per car parking fee.
