Multitude of trails in Southern Maine
Trail Description:
This area consists of old roads, singletrack, and a paved access road that offer a fun ride through this public land. There are several trails to choose from allowing you to make your own loops. A fun highlight is to ride to the top of the mountain and climb up the fire tower for a spectacular panoramic view of the region. It is pretty easy finding your way around so just explore and have fun.
How to get there:
This trail is in Southern Maine. From I-95 Northbound, Exit at York Village (the last exit before the toll station). Head North on U.S. for 3.5 miles and turn left onto Mountain Road. Follow Mountain Road for about 3 miles staying on the main road. Then fork left onto Agamenticus Road. Just before Agamenticus Road turns to dirt, you will see a turnoff on the right. Park here.

I have a map. But it's in my head and not easily shared. If someone had one of those GPS machine thingies they would want to lend me, I'd offer to map out the area. But the locals would hunt me down and kill me for exposing their local stashes.Don't be fooled: Everyone gets lost at Mt Aggie. Bring lots of water, food. Start early so that you have plenty of time to find your way out.

The riding around Mt. A is awesome, but it is very easy to get lost. My husband, brother, and I finally bought a GPS after getting lost many times -- and we've been riding these trails for years. The terrain is fun and mixed with lots of areas loaded with rocks. Only downside is that ATVs and dirt bikes (the motorized kind) can also be found in some sections.

Aggie is a mountain small in stature, but if you know your way around-it will kick your mother-f@#$%$% a@#!! Singletrack bordering on trials-riding, sick-downhills and gut-busting climbs leave you and your steed broken and abused so Stay Home Yuppies!! Stay away from properties as well---You might get shot!!Other wise, go out and rip++++

Best Mtn. Biking near in Portsmouth Area. Mt. Agamenticus is only 16 miles from town. Warn, muddy trails used by 4x4s along reservoirs provides challenging biking. Anyone have a map? Cliffs 2 miles in the woods are ideal for rockclimbing!

Anybody who says it is to find way around has only ridden a very limited section of Mount Aggie. Trust me, I went 17 miles off course, thanks to a nice farmer he directed us back to car via the road! Best to have someone from the area show you the secret stuff, but watch where you go there are some people who live out in those woods!

The trail description states that it easy to find your way around Mt. A. This opinion is not the norm. Almost everyone has gotten lost on the trails at least once. The trails aren't well marked and I haven't seen a good map yet.
