Awesome trail for beginners and seasoned bikers. It's got a lot to offer like fast downhills, killer climbs, a couple drops, a creek, thought provoking moves and some tight squeezes. All under a lush, cool, green canopy.. There's a lake to chill by too, but you have to find it in the maze of trails.

This year (2006), Wapahahini has come of age. I've been riding this trail for the past 4 years and like a fine wine; it just seems to get better. This trail is just plain fun. It's fast, tight, and twisty with some quick, steep hills to kick your butt. Lots of roots, rocks, and logs now. If you want something more technical, lay off your brakes and ride faster; see how that feels. If your in the area, it's a must ride. The only reason why it doesn't get five wheels is because I wish it was longer but for a great hour or 2 ride, you can't beat it. Want something longer? Go to Brown County State Park, best riding in Indiana.

More trail has been built recently at Wapehani with some more log obstacles. Great resource to Bloomingon mountain bikers who just want to ride for a couple hours after work instead of driving the half hour or more to Brown County. Plenty of technical areas, fun climbs and downhills. Some of the trails are easy to miss because they often interconnect making a large series of small loops. If you get bored here, it's your fault.

This is my everyday rider. I can spend about two hours before it becomes monotonous. The technical section is great, but short. There are two hills on the other side of the lake that are short but extremely steep and challenging. I rode there this year and was pleasantly surprised to find more logs down, more rocks, etc. I've broken countless pieces of my bike and spent weeks recovering from some wrecks there. People who say it is an easy ride aren't taking any risks. Tons of fun.

I live less than a mile from Wapahani now. I went back to there recently after a 3-4 year break. It is an offical park now. It is well maintained, and there are several new trails added that I've never seen. The new trail system starts from the front left of the parking lot as you enter. You can get some serious speed on these new trails without having to climb your butt off. 70% of the park does not require hard climbing, but there are a few steep hills that will take your breath away if you are not in primo condition. Whoever said these trails are not technical is a fool. There are a ton of ruts, steep hard carving turns, large root systems, large logs to hop, wooden slat/log bridges, foot deep creeks to cross etc etc. I've been to the most hardcore places like Moab, Tsali, etc., and Wapahani stands up pretty well to them. Don't pass this place up just because it used to be so-so! Had a blast there yesterday :)

Wapehani used to be really nice. The guy in charge of trail maintenance has taken all technicality out of the trails. Removing ALL rocks, logs, and anything challenging has destroyed what once was a great place to ride. Drive an extra forty minutes to Gnaw Bone or the other way to Linton...more trails, more fun.
