From Bloomington take HWY 46 to HWY 135 South. Take 135 South to Story. In Story, look for the Story Inn. Turn right at the Story Inn and follow the road for about 3 miles keeping left. Park a half mile past the bridge in the small pull out on the left side of the road.

Just to clarify the some remaining confusion through these comments. The Knobstone Hiking Trail(From Delaney to Deam) is hiking foot traffic only as is the Two-Lakes Loop Trail in Hoosier National Forest (confirmed by USFS and IN DNR). I've heard they are both now being patrolled by rangers who are ticketing violators. So it's probably best to follow these rules. Besides, there are a lot nice mt bike trails in Indiana elsewhere.

....as far as Mt. biking goes...all i know is that i bike here all the time and every time im on this trail i see at least 4 other cars in the parking lot with bikers out riding. I ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO GET A TRAIL PASS THOUGH. there are lots o trails out here so maybe im confused about which one is which but the one i ride has bikers on it all the time and ive never seen a ranger. all i know is that i ride part of the Nebo Trail. which part - i have no idea, never really look at the map:)

i only give this one a 5 because of the awesome scenery and just because im so fond of this trail and the area its in. what a beautiful piece of country. first time i rode this i was so out of shape - almost puked on that first hill :) but was good to go after that. my type of trail - the first hill is a bitch - almost as if to say 'if you cant make this hill then go back to the car'. once you make that hill though - its on! ...and its probably the most fun descent on the trail and a great way to end the ride coming back. lots of nice descents over rocks and roots. not very technical (unless you try to take the descents like i do and see if you can break mach 1...or something else) but the ascents can be lung burners from hell. gives a great aerobic workout with some great scenery. everyone ive met biking out here has been super cool. oh yea...best bring some supplies/tools/goodies/etc... cause your out in the middle of nowhere practicly. nice long ride with multiple trails. la

Great trail. Well maintained and only moderately technical. Great for endurance building. They put probably a dozen new erosion stopping gravel mounds on the biggest hill that are good for skill, but bad for speed. It's still a nice reward at the end of a tough ride. Watch out for the bugs. They can be annoying if you stop too frequently. Overall, its is a bit out of the way, but the quality of the trail is well worth the trip.

I read some positive reviews of this old place called Knobstone (Now named Nebo ridge) out by Gnawbone on highway 135. Took me two hours wandering around to find the place. (It is not easy to find at all). The roads are windy as a snakes' back, and cannot be traveled on above 40mph for the most part. The trail itself is long, but is basically horse trails/dried out stream beds that bike riders have shaped into singletrack. One section of the trails is grown up with grass/weeds, and I am assuming this is the actual horse/hiking trails they say to stay off of. There is a map provided at the entrance/parking lot. That map made no sense to me, so I just rode all over as far as I could go. The pass for a day is $3 ($25 annual) and you get them at the local Story Inn. The ride out is arduous climbing (lungs were burning), but the ride back is a awesome 20 mph downhill rollercoaster that required no peddling. So you work a lot up front to get a payback. This singletrack is as un-t

This trail is located in Brown County, just out side of Nashville and is marked as Nebo Ridge Trail. At the Story Inn go straight through the stop sign for about 3 miles. There is a brown Hoosier National Forest, Nebo Ridge sign and a small parking lot on the left.

I've been riding Knobstone for 5 years and it is by far my favorite trail in Indiana, except for the trail I have in my woods at home, and the story inn is a grteat place to stay or have lunch. There are a lot of trails that take off from the main trail that are fun too, camping is great and secluded.

I think the confusion is caused by the fact that there is a Knobstone Trail Hiking trail that currently goes from Delaney Park to Deem Lake (about 60 miles). It is being expanded to eventually start at Lake Monroe, and end at Deem Lake (100 miles). The KT Hiking Trail is all located South of the Story, Indiana area which is very near Brown County State Park. Mountain bikes are NOT allowed on the KT Hiking Trail (according to all the signs).I have hiked much of the KT Hiking Trail but have not yet ridden the KT Bike trail - so disregard my rating.
