I live in and I ride the trail every other day or so. i think it's great fun and how difficult the ride is depends on how fast you wanna go. No rock-gardens, steep drop-offs or alike but simply straight single track packed into some 9 miles. A few nice jumps, 'half-pipes', and fun, twisting turns through the twigs. The sand-pits sometimes eat your front-tire. I think the more often you ride the trail the sweeter it gets. Ride counter-clockwise! Thanks to all the folks who maintain the trail. I really appreciate your efforts.

My buddy and I just started riding last year, this was our first trail for the season after finals and our first time on it. We both thought it was awesome and not too challenging. it is not hard to find either. Get in shape, because it is about an 8 mile ride with some drops and climbs but mostly flat and twisting. The only problem we had is that we kept on the same path but the trail markers kept saying we were going in the wrong direction about every other time we saw them, confusing...

I finally rode this trail for the first time. I had heard about it for 5 years now, but never taken the time to do it. What a great time I had after work. The trail is very fast with several small dips and chutes. I love the little log crossings. (1 is 2-3 feet tall with smaller logs built up to it) It is about 9-10 miles and could be done in 9-10 minutes...(if I were Lance, hehe) Ran into several riders of all ages/skill levels (even cyclocross) getting in their after-work exercise. If you don't have a ton of time, this is a great trail to blow of some steam. If you do have more time...heck just do the loop a few times.

This is a river bottom trail system that has been around for many years. It is very fast, as the surface is primarily packed river sand. The absence of rocks and roots makes for a ride of variable difficulty, depending on how fast you want to push through the tight twists and turns. The Lawrence and surrounding area is very lucky to have such a fun trail within the city limits, something not possible without the maintenance efforts of M. Hough, M. Reeding, C. Martell, and many others.
