Ride Summary:
A picturesque old rail line converted to bike trail
Trail Description:
This is a very easy ride along an abandoned rail line, but the scenery is tremendous. Ride over trestle bridges with deep canyons filled with raging rivers, picturesque forests and all around beauty.
The rail trail also hooks up with the edge of the Albion Hills Conservation where you can ride some more trails of more challenge.
How to get there:
Take HWY 401 to HWY 409 and exit at Airport Road. Follow Airport Road North to Caledon. You will see the trail in the center of town.

As a rail trail this one is really nice. We usually start in East Caledon and ride West to the paved road just before Terra Cotta. Go north on the paved road (little to no traffic) and you climb steadily for about 5Km. Hang a right and you go straight into Belfontain. Great Ice Cream store on the corner. Continue through Belfontain and tackle some great hills with a screaming downhill around 180 degree hairpin. My friend nearly killed himself on his fixey at about 75km/h. Take first gravel road South past Bruce trail back onto the rail trail back to the car.
Total round trip is just over 50km. Not bad for a 2hr ride.

If u happen to like this sort of trail (rail trail) there is another good one that runs from Meaford to Collingwood. Trail is 37km with views of Georgian Bay to the north and Blue Mountain to the south. Extremely easy trail to ride, any bike could do it. Flat trail as well. It is very scenic so if thats what u like its worth the trip.
