This is a mountain bike post. So are non-motorized mountaing bikes legal or no?

I work for the forest service. Trust me on this when I tell you dirt bikes, ATVs, snowmobiles, any and all off road vehicles except registered, licensed vehicles on approved roads, are illegal.

Previous poster states bikes are prohibited. False information. Check the Monongahela website. Bikes are allowed everywhere but a few 'wilderness' areas.

Off road vehicle are illegal in the Monongahela forest. Riding this trail may get your bike impounded and end up with a substantial fine.

Very fun ride. After you pass private property, it is almost all national land. Up and down most of the way, so not to bad, but a ways in their is a take off point for hang-gliders, with a great view, but after that is a killer hill. Many trails go off of it to the vallys also.

The first 100-150 ft. or so is private property and the owner has posted no biking. Be cool and walk bike until Natioal Forest boundry. :)
