Lots of climbing and endurance required but awesome views of Round Valley and West Mountain.

Trail Description:
Go up USFS 417 in the dirt and start climbing. Don't go onto the logging roads you see. At 4.8 miles, there's a junction with Skink Creek and Wetfoot Creek Trail. Stay on the dirt road. At mile 8.6, go right onto a steep dual track trail (marked by a blaze) and ride about one-tenth of a mile until you hit the East Mountain Trail, a wide single track trail. Go left and it's up and down you go along the ridge. At 12.9 miles you dump out onto a dirt road. A sign will say go left and then right to get back on East Mountain Trail. The road will dead end at 13.6 miles. Go right and follow the blaze. At 13.9 miles ignore a narrow single track trail (Fool Creek) and continue along until 16.4 miles when it'll plunge nicely to a dirt road. Go right at 17.4 miles on the dirt road to the East fork of Clear Creek on the USFS 405 road. It's about 4.6 miles of downhill fun until an unsigned junction with Clear Creek Road. go left and head back to the car (about 10 miles, all down hill!).

How to get there:
Take I-55 out of Cascade to the Clear Creek junction, about 8 miles south of town. Go east and follow the dirt road as it goes around some housing developments and take a left onto USFS 409. Go about 2 miles to a junction with USFS 417 at the right. Turn onto USFS 417 and park.

Additional Notes:
Watch out for the ATV and motorcycle traffic (seasonal).

I love climbing so I love this trail. Even if you don't like climbing, you'll definitely have fun going back down and the views are specatacular.
