Ride Summary:
This is a great singletrack trail following the Athabasca river.

Trail Description:
Mostly singletrack with some steep but short climbs and several stream crossings. One cliff section requires caution. Beginners should proceed slowly or walk. Expect to encounter bears and elk, depending on season. You have the option of taking the same trail back or completing a loop by taking Highway 16 back to Jasper.

How to get there:
from Jasper, head east towards Hinton and take the first bridge on the right, just off Highway 16. Turn left pass the bridge on Maligne Lake Road and look for the 6th bridge picnic area. There bike across another small bridge and turn left; the trail starts by the river.

Additional Notes:
Old remains of a wooden building about halfway on the trail are great for a picnic.

First trail I ever rode. Looking back it was a great trail. Except being the first ride ever, my ass was so sore I was happy when I got back to the parking lot. Cursing through the root section in the beginning along the river. But I'm looking forward to going at it again now.

One of my favorites. This trail is an excellent early season choice. Fairly low traffic. Can get dusty in mid-summer. Doesn't require a great deal of technical riding, but the opportunities are there if you want them. I have taken one really good fall on this one going down to one of the creek crossings. It's one of my top three rides in the park. (btw: this is a good ride if you don't have a vehical, as it is easily accesible from town.

This trail was sweet. My friend and I tried it twice because it was so awesome.

Wicked trail except I fell down a lot on side of the hill riding in the mud. Some steep up-hills. Creek crossings are wicked
