There isn't a lot of climbing but it can be steep and short. The downside is that there are no descents more than a couple of seconds in length. Cool bridges crossing and a woody feel to the ride. In the summer the heat can be unbearable. This is a great fall or winter ride. The site has full camping facilities including; hot showers & paved parking but there is a three dollar fee for day use.

How to get there:
From Jackson, MS head South on Hwy 55. When you come to Hwy 84 head West. Follow until you come to the Homochitto National Forest park entrance.

From Baton Rouge, LA, take Hwy 19 North to the Mississippi line where the road turns into Hwy 33. Continue on Hwy 33 north until it comes to hwy 84/98 and head East on 84/98. You will follow this until you see the sign Clear Springs Homochitto National Forest. Take a right here. Follow the road until you come to the check in facility and pay your three dollars day use fee.

Additional Notes:
There is a $3 park usage fee.

Actually, there is a decent series of trails in Jackson, Michigan. They're located at Ella Sharp Park. Several short trails that you can combine and get about 8 miles out of. Real tight hairpin turns with many of them shooting downhill a few feet only to switch back uphill. Lots of roots and narrow spots between trees. I've become intimately aqcuainted with a few of them. A good quick after work ride. It's located about 3 miles west of US127 South off the M-50 exit.

It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail. Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

Next time somebody posts a trial check out the location. This trail says Michigan but the directions and National park it is in is MISSISSIPPI. Kinda a long drive for the weekend

I'm going to type some completely inaccurate information about this trail and see if it gets posted.
