Ride Summary:
The marked trails offer a variety of terrain to tame. Nothing too challenging but it's all fun.
Trail Description:
This is one of the few state parks that allow biking on the marked trails. The Kickapoo Mountain Bike Club has done an outstanding job to work with the parks department and create a nice network of trails. Nothing here is extreme but there's enough to challenge most riders. The way to tackle it is to do several loops over and over. Test yourself and your skills by increasing speed each time.
How to get there:
I-74 east from Champaign to exit 206. From Danville, go West on I-74 to exit 206. Follow signs to state park entrance. Then watch for park signs that direct you to the trailhead.
Additional Notes:
Probably the same distance from Champaign.

Only been riding a few months...and first time on Kickapoo. Great trail, very fun and fairly challenging for beginners. Beware...slow down unless you know the track, the course is very unforgiving and a wide turn can easily mean falling off very steep hills. Other than that the only complaint is a confusing route for beginners, I had no idea where I was headed, even after looking at the map...few signs telling you where to go, but I ended up at my car, so it's all good. definately reccomended and worth the drive!

WOW! This a fun trail and very well designed. This is a great trail to take a beginner on so he/she can see what MTB has to offer. This trail has a taste of everything: some decent sized drops, some steep short climbs, some long slow rocky climbs, switch backs, creek crossings, jumps (built in on the side of the single track so you can hit 'em or fly on past as you want)warm-up and cool-down sections it is just a lot of fun. I live in Indiana and we drive over about once a month to hit it. The trail head is easy to miss so watch on your right side if you follow the above directions, it'll fly right past ya. Have fun and LIVESTRONG!!
