Ride Summary:
The VASA Singletrack look is a fast and winding trail. The entire network of trails includes many many more miles.
Trail Description:
The VASA trail network consists of many trails. There is enormous variety as well. From wide cross-country ski trails to miles of super secret wicked singletrack, there's something for everyone. The jewel is the marked VASA Singletrack Loop which is a 12 mile one-way trail opened in 1997. The VASA singletrack loop is to be ridden in a counter clockwise direction. The trail is very well marked so the real task is finding the trailhead!

Other trails of note are the VASA cross-country trails. They begin on the other side of the network at the Acme Township Park off Bartlett Road. These to are easily marked. They are wider trails and more suited to beginner riders. There are 2 options, either the 11km (6.8 mi.) or 25 km (15.5) loops.
Maybe the real highlight of VASA is the extensive network of unmarked trails. These trails spider through the property and conservatively offer another 30 miles of trail.
How to get there:
There are two trailheads at VASA. From downtown Traverse City head North on US 31. Keep an eye out for Bunker Hill Road and then look for the VASA Trail signs. Turn right onto Bunker Hill Road, go approximately 1.5 miles and turn right on Bartlett Road. Park in the lot to begin the cross-country trails.
To find the VASA Singletrack Loop it's a little more tricky. It's about 5 miles South of Acme Township Park. From Traverse City head North on US 31. Five Mile Road will be on your right, before Bunker Hill Road. Follow this until you reach Hammond Road, take a right. Turn left on High Lake Road and then a right onto Supply Road. Follow this for several miles. At a Y, stay left as the road bends right and start looking for the sign indicating the VASA Singletrack Loop.

Did the loop - flat as a pancake, super fast. Great fun, flying through the trees. A rare chance to really get to put the pedal to the metal. Met a super nice local who showed me around.

Scenic beauty.
It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail.
Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

Just a note on the directions to save you from driving by the trail. You have to turn left on Supply road not right.
