11 singletrack miles of trails travelling through wetlands, meadows, and along the Grand River.
Snaking through sparse woods and along the Grand River, the trails are 11 miles of fast single or doubletrack. There are tight switchbacks and some technical stretches. Additionally there are enough mellow sections that riders of all skill levels can enjoy the area. The trails are adequately marked and are noticeable by a yellow post. Each of the trails is accessible from the main parking lot.
How to get there:
Located between Grand Rapids and Lansing, Ionia State Recreation Area is very easy to find. From Grand Rapids, take I-96 East towards Lansing. Take exit 64 and head North on Jordan Lake Road. From Lansing, take I-96 West and then follow as mentioned above. The park entrance will be about 3 miles up the road.
A map of the trails is available at the park office.

(Paperback) After using the search dinise book option I ordered this excellent resource which covers almost the whole area we will tour by car during our 2 1/2 week vacation. Within hours of receiving Seattle 2011, our trip plan was developed, due to the book's organization, maps and concise descriptions. One of the best features is the listing of web addresses which facilitate ordering ferry tickets and finding current exhibitions at museums, etc.
