Distance: 4.50 miles (7.24 KM)
Duration: 1 - 2 Hours
Elevation Gain: 250 Feet (76 Meters)

Ride Summary:
There are no substantial climbs, but several short steep climbs that combined with the twisting trail and rough terrain will give you a great workout.

Trail Description:
This loop is a fun challenge for the Intermediate rider and a kick in the pants for the more advanced rider. This short trail packs all the elements of a monumental ride into just four miles. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. After a little less than a mile the trail will come to a "T" intersection. This is where the loop begins and whichever direction you choose, you will be lead back to this point.

How to get there:
From Florence go South on US 101. After about 7 miles look for the trailhead parking lot on the left side of the road.

A quick (did it in about an hour) and fun trail. A little more difficult than I expected. There are quite a few uphill portions to keep your lungs and heart pumping hard. Overall it was a fun ride and I would do it again.

"good" because it's a loop and you can go either way, each of which is a smooth, fast, open single track (one way is steeper & curvier). "good" because it's got a great lake-front at the bottom of the hill for gazing, wading & swimming. "good" because it's quick. "not so good" because it's to quick. "not so good" because the parking area is out of sight of the highway and not heavily used, so relatively "safe" for those who might try to break in to your car. i do it in the summer for a quick evening ride with a short swim in between "out" & "back". and i do it other times of the year when i'm travelling between north of florence and south of florence. it's to short for a drive specially to do it. for a day trip, you'd want to fit in the three-mile lake trail to the south, and/or the cape perpetua trails to the north.
